Scotland's first and only science lab for children.
We offer a range of hands-on activities to allow children to actively engage with science.
LAB22 exists with the primary objective to support schools in teaching science, more precisely Physics. The overall approach will be to introduce concepts without the use of equations. Equations are simply a summary of what is happening around us, they are not a starting point. It is also important that youngsters understand the impact that can be made on day to day life with an understanding of Physics.
LAB22 is the first of it’s kind, offering children a safe space to explore Physics through hands-on experiments and constructions that will demonstrate the newly learned topics.
TOPICS
Two, age-specific curriculums to engage and delight the next generation
P4-P5

Certificates for Every LevelOur Level 1 curriculum introduces basic scientific concepts appropriate for the age group, such as properties of matter, forces and motion. Each child is given a certificate upon completion of each level.
Forces: Magnetic Coin Run
Electricity: Scribblebot
Sound: Wind Chimes
Materials: Prosthetic Hand
Energy: Balloon Buggy
P6-P7
Level 2
Certificates for Every LevelOur Level 2 curriculum introduces more advanced scientific concepts appropriate for the age group, such as properties of matter, forces and motion. Each child is given a certificate upon completion of each level.
Forces: Electromagnets
Electricity: Battery Powered Car

Enrol your class for the next term
We are ready to receive groups of primary school pupils to learn about: electricity, energy, forces, materials and sound. Our engaging and interactive workshops allow youngsters to discuss historical local figures who altered the way that we live today with their contributions to science. We then move onto hands-on experiments and topics to demonstrate more clearly the newly learnt topics.
TESTIMONIAL
"I had the coolest experience building a domino machine all by myself. I felt like an inventor! The instructor taught me about balance and momentum then helped me to bring my ideas to life. I felt like a real engineer. It was so exciting to see dominoes fall out of the machine one by one. It was like a rollercoaster ride for dominoes!”
